This course is a must for anyone who plans to venture into desert regions, whether for a brief tourist excursion or a series expedition. For this once in a lifetime experience join us and trek over 100 miles across the Mojave Desert in Southern California following the historic Mojave Road.

The Mojave Road began life centuries ago as a trade road for the Mojave Indians from the Colorado River to the Pacific , the indians then led European settlers through the desert on the route and it subsequently became a major trail to the west.
Today it remains virtually unchanged from those early days, come with us on this fantastic journey into the past and explore the history, culture, wildlife and solitude of the old "Wild West".

We spend 10 days trekking the road through the stunning Mojave National Preserve wild camping on route. For your safety we will be fully supported throughout by 4x4.

To culminate the trip we will move up to Death Valley and spend the last couple of days sightseeing in this breath taking part of the Mojave desert system before returning to the real world with bump for our last night in Las Vegas.

 

 

 

See the world through the eyes of a Masai Warrior.

A unique insight into the rapidly disappearing world of a proud race of people.

The trip will begin at Nairobi where we will be collected by our Masai hosts. Over the next 10 days you will the experience all aspects of traditional Masai life. Living with them in one of their villages you will sample their food, culture, customs, music and dance. We will also accompany the warriors on foot across the Rift Valley, tracking the amazing wildlife of the Kenyan savannah. This amazing experience is exclusive to Desert Ways.
